I would supplemen...The model is an interesting one. I would supplement the remark about the top left cell where everyone if apparently happy. Firstly there is one professor: s/he can fit the binary nicely; but the students are of course more numerous so it's unlikely that they will all be adrift or focused. The ratios can be variable though. In my experience drifting faculty get hammered in reviews even when they are grade inflaters. Both from those students that are focused and from *some* of those who are drifting know that they are being cheated. <br /><br />Having read literally tens of thousands of student comments on personnel committee I can say in my experience there is only limited tolerance for crap. So the top left cell is rarely all happy.<br /><br />That being said I think this is a useful exercise.
